Tutorial for icecream pin cushion.

heres the icecream pin cushion.

start with fabric twice the depth of small cardboard roll ,and make sure it will go around roll with a little to sew a seam.

sew short sides together. fold in half ,put carboard roll between 2 fabric sides as shown in pic

run a row of stitches around the top ,pull tight ,and finish off .

cut a circle of cardboard ,same size as cardboard tube ,cut a fabric circle a little bigger,stitch around the circle ,pull tight ,

sew bottom to fabric covered tube using little stitches.

stuff with filling.

cut about an 8 inch piece of white cotton,about 6 cms wide ,make a small long roll of filling ,roll between hands. to fit.

keeping filling inside stitch long sides together.

attach the cream starting at one end ,attach with small stitches to the fabric covered tube.

keep sewing the cream ,curling it round as you go ,like in the pic.

push the last bit in and fasten off securely.

add some glass topped pins,or sew on some coloured beads ,for sprinkles.

there we are ,finished.

A little opening pin cushion,made from a beautiful embroidered silk fabric sample,and an old toilet roll inner.................................................

Another afternoons crafting. ,these have glass topped pins in ,instead of sewn on beads.

They look more like cupcakes than icecreams.

little personalised pillows.

First one trimmed with lace ,I just hope my daughter will like it .

Both waiting for lace to arrive,lol.

They are white,but it looks pale blue on the pic ,next time I,ll take them outside to snap.

I,m making these little personalised pillows for a little Christmas pressie for my 2 daughters .

Bought the iron on lettering off ebay ,went on very easily.

I need to get more stuffing to finish no 2 pillow ,then its trimming with some lace .

I,ll put another pic on when I finish them.

Just listening

What a lovely morning,sat on the bench in the garden to have my coffee ,and the noise,well................,...

I could hear the babbling of water ,from our garden pond,the loudest buzzing of bees,it sounded like I was inside a beehive.Bees were all around my bench ,after the nectar from the plants.

Birds were singing,it was a real joy to sit in the garden ,I watched the blackbird,cheeky blighter,pinching the fish food from in the pond.and the magpies are something else,they fetch hard bread,not from our garden,and dip it in the bird bath to soften it,lol.

I really love sitting in the sun in the morning just ebjoying being alive .

I made a garland in the end.

These are still all waiting for their stuffing. I dont know whether to make them into a heart garland or heart bunting.

This is my little heart project.

I have to sew by hand so its taking a while.

the hearts are made from samples of fabric scounged off te internet

Lovely sunny day today............had a lovely cup of coffee this morning in my new Cath Kidson mug .I,m sure it tastes better out of a new mug.
